School & Nursery Experience
The Wishing Tree Children's NurseryDuring my time at The wishing Tree Children s Nursery I worked with children aged 3-5 years. This experience gave me good knowledge of the EYFS and in this setting I was able to gain understanding and observe children's development before they enter a school setting. I was also able to plan and carry out activities relating to the EYFS.

Busy Bees Nursery (formerly known as Early Years Childcare)In this setting I worked with children aged 14-23 months. Like the previous nursery I was able to plan and carry out activities relating to the EYFS to support the children's development. Although I thoroughly enjoyed working in this setting and developed many professional skills I knew that in the future I would want to work with older children. |
St Pauls CoE Primary SchoolIn this school I worked in a Reception class. During this placement I was able to observe children and again I was able to plan and carry out activities to support children's development. I also took part in a school trip, which gave me understanding of how much work goes into taking the children off site and doing official documents such as risk assessments.

The Dharma Primary SchoolThis School is the only Buddhist school in Britain and I felt very privileged to be able to work there! I worked in a class with year 1&2 children, as the school is small there is a separate Nursery and Reception class, a year 1&2 class, a year 3&4 class and a year 5&6 class. The school has a topic-based approach and is advised but not restricted by the National Curriculum. there is many opportunities for creative activities.

Hillside SchoolThis setting fed my interest in SEN education. I really enjoyed working in this setting I already knew quite bit of Makaton before I went which made it much easier! I worked a mixed aged class with only six children, all of which had severe autism. I was able to develop my skills in working with SEN children and learnt in more depth different ways to adapt activities to make them accessible which I was able to apply in other settings.
